A SCOTS independent connectivity consultancy, FarrPoint, in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, has travelled to Orkney with a mission to inspire more youngsters into a career in telecoms.

The Edinburgh based firm set out to attract fresh talent into the sector which is badly needed, according to recent research which suggests more than 60% of telecoms engineers are over 50.

This comes at the same time as research reveals 42% of telecoms businesses are reporting a skills gap in the external labour market.

Kristina Vard, head of marketing at FarrPoint stands at the stall
Kristina Vard, head of marketing at Farrpoint.

In rural and island locations, finding employees with telecoms skills can be an even greater challenge.

As part of the Orkney International Science Festival, FarrPoint’s Alan Patterson, Nikki Robertson and Kristina Vard visited Kirkwall Grammar School to deliver two ‘Connectivity and the Internet of Things’ workshops for young people.

The youngsters who attended got the chance to explore the world of connectivity, check their mobile signal strengths and test some smart IoT solutions.

They also learned how to map 4G mobile signal using FarrPoint’s mobile mapping tool at the events over the last two weeks which finished yesterday.

Alan Patterson, Telecoms Consultant at FarrPoint said: “Everyone’s talking about careers in STEM more generally, as various industries try to attract more talent, but you don’t hear much about working in telecoms.

“It may not be the first career choice that comes to mind. However, it’s a sector that has seen huge developments recently and is fast-paced and exciting.

“A job in telecoms could be anything from a satellite engineer who plans and design telecoms infrastructure in space, to a design engineer running the television and internet coverage for major sporting events.

“A telecom leader planning how high streets and shopping centres function, or in the health sector where connectivity is hugely important to improving health care.”

Nikki Robertson, GIS consultant at FarrPoint added: “It was great to see so many young people get involved in our hands-on workshops, which we designed specifically to demonstrate that telecoms can be fun and engaging.

“There are so many routes into our industry, but if you have an interest in technology and how things work, that is an excellent start.

“Most of us have a smart mobile phone these days and can’t imagine a life without the Internet – it would certainly be a very different world to the one most young people are used to.

“But to keep that rate of progress going, we need more young talent to consider joining the sector.”

Maha Abhishek, Deputy Festival Director said: “We were thrilled to have FarrPoint join us at the Orkney International Science Festival’s Family Day for young people and their families to delve into the fascinating world of connectivity and the Internet of Things.

“Their presence added a unique and valuable dimension to our event, shedding light on topics that are often not commonly explored within the vibrant programme of science festivals.

“This opportunity was especially meaningful for remote communities in Orkney, as it allowed us to engage with these intriguing subjects in a way we rarely get to do.”

Andrea Rutherford, HIE’s head of policy for Digital Highlands and Islands, said: “The use of Internet of technology is growing all the time in industry, as more and more firms discover the business benefits it can bring.

“This emphasises the crucial nature of both digital connectivity and digital skills.

“Engaging young people at the Orkney Science and giving them an insight into how technology and connectivity is applied in business is a great way to encourage many of them to start thinking about potential technology-related career options.”

EX-CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths has revealed that he was booed from the crowd by his own cousins after scoring his first goal for the Hoops.

The former Scotland forward appeared on the 26 podcast last month where he told how he managed to spot his family members as he celebrated his strike against Hearts.

The 33-year-old notched 123 goals during his eight-year spell at Celtic Park, but recalled how his first goal for the Glasgow side wasn’t particularly welcomed by his own family.

The goal came in the second half of a 2-0 Celtic win, and Griffiths recalled: “I remember seeing my two cousins in the stand.

“My two Hearts fans, my cousins, over in the stand and it wasn’t until I slid on my knees and I stood up and I was looking, I just seen them giving me dogs abuse.”

The podcast host can’t believe his ears and asks: “Oh were they giving you it?”

Griffiths immediately doubles down with his reply, stating: “Oh, stinking dog’s abuse and I was like ‘Okay I’ve made it now’, especially when your family members are giving you dog’s abuse.”

The 22 times capped striker then recalled the rest of his celebration at Tynecastle Park adding: “That’s the best part man, then after that I’ve just done a massive loop past all the Celtic fans.

“I didn’t even thank the Celtic fans, which was stupid of me, I just did this massive loop and went to the manager.”

The Celtic manager at the time was Neil Lennon who had made no secret of his desire to land Griffiths in 2014.

The Northern Irishman saw two bids knocked back by Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers before a third was accepted to bring the forward back to Scotland.

The clip was shared online last month with the caption: “Leigh giving it to his cousins in the stand.”

It received more than 8,000 likes with dozens of comments from social media users quick to offer their view on the situation.

One said: “What a left foot, chief.”

Another added: “Great player, shocking attitude, always looking to blame.”

Griffiths now plays in Australia for Mandurah City FC in the Western Australia State League Division One, where he has scored 11 times in 15 league games so far.

A HILARIOUS video shows wrestling legend Big Show’s controversial reaction to Irn-Bru after trying the fizzy drink for the first time.

Big Show – best known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) – was taking part in a UK vs USA food and drink test ahead of All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) All In Wembley PPV last week.

Joined by fellow wrestler, Norwich-born Saraya, the 51-year-old tried Scotland’s other national drink but was initially left unimpressed, boldly slamming the drink’s taste and appeal.

Despite his initial grievances with the drink however, Big Show – real name Paul Wight – was incredibly left admitting that he preferred the drink to the American option on the table – a root beer.

The clip begins with Big Show sitting alongside Saraya, who begins to try and help him understand the drink.

The current AEW Woman’s champion says: “Irn-Bru, I don’t even know how to describe that -.”

Heavyweight Big Show interjects to offer his view on the design of the can, commenting: “It’s got a dude lifting [weights] on here – is this like a sports drink?”

The former WWE champion then picks up the glass and sniffs the beverage, before the pair knock back the much-loved drink and Big Show pulls a disgusted face.

He pulls no punches with his initial commentary, stating: “Jesus, that’s awful.”

Saraya and the crew are left chuckling as Big Show lets out a burp, adding: “He just threw up a bit.”

Big Show agrees and informs her: “I threw up in my mouth a little bit on that one, oh my God is that terrible.”

The producer of the show then enquires to know what Big Show thinks the taste is like and receives a stark reply.

Pulling no punches, the big man scrunches up his face and says: “Vanilla vomit.”

Appearing keen to agree with her colleague, Saraya comments: “Yeah, Irn-Bru isn’t very good.”

Unsatisfied with the initial comment, Big Show adds: “I mean, that’s really terrible, that is horrendous.”

Saraya then sarcastically suggests that he take one additional sip just to be sure of his recommendation, saying: “You could take another sip just in case.”

However, Big Show seems disappointed that he hasn’t enjoyed the orange drink stating: “No it’s so bad, I can’t believe it tastes that bad.”

A member of the filming crew interjects and says: “Imagine it hungover.”

Big Show seems bewildered by this suggestion, asking “Hungover?” before Saraya comments: “It’s like medicine.”

This leads current AEW commentator Big Show to brutally add: “If I was hungover, I’d rather have a grilled pork chop out of an ashtray, that is just, there’s nothing.”

The Big Show holds a glass of Irn-Bru

As he speaks, he raises the glass to have another sniff, confusing Saraya who asks: “I thought you were going to drink it again.”

The pair continue their beat-down on Scotland’s favourite soft drink with no sign of stopping.

The Big Show, dressed in a black AEW polo shirt, comments: “I’m amazed that this is actually a product.”

Although appearing to dislike the drink, Big Show continues to pick up the glass to take small sips of the orange liquid.

Aware of what he is doing, Big Show offers his comment as to why, reasoning: “It’s so bad, I can’t stop, maybe that’s why it’s popular, because I can’t get a taste on it.

“I’m like ‘Oh this is good’ but it’s like ‘No this is rotten’.”

In a hilarious turn of events, surprising both himself and Saraya, along with the entire crew filming, Big Show smiles and laughs: “You know what is effed up? This is starting to grow on me.”

Rounding off the video – Saraya proclaims: “I will take one for the team and go for Team Britain if he likes it.”

The producer then asks who will be receiving the point between a root beer and Irn-Bru with Big Show completing his turnaround on the juice.

The former World Heavyweight champion adds: “It’s got to be, I would say Irn-Bru over Root Beer, yeah.”

The video was shared to social media last week with the caption: “Safe to say Paul Wight wasn’t a fan of Irn-Bru as he took on Snack Wars with the new AEW women’s world champion Saraya.”

It received over 5,500 likes with hundreds of social media users quick to comment on the hilarious clip.

One said: “Big Show has literally offended a whole country.”

Another added: “I’ll square go the Big Show.”

A third replied: “[Irn-Bru] is the greatest drink in the world.”

A fourth commented: “He definitely liked it, he couldn’t stop [drinking it].”

ALAN Brazil has slammed the idea of a throuple after his co-hosts raised the topic on TalkSport yesterday, saying that “the world’s gone mad”.

The long-time presenter was hosting TalkSport Breakfast alongside Shebahn Aherne and ex-Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor yesterday when the former raised the topic of a three-way couple.

Despite boxer David Haye being perhaps the most famous example after being in a series of throuples – including one with Saturdays singer Una Healy – Brazil was left thoroughly unimpressed.

The hilarious clip begins with Shebahn turning to Alan Brazil and saying: “Throuples.”

The 64-year-old seems nonplussed with the word, asking: “What’s that?”

Shebahn then takes a breath before looking at her screen to explain clearly the notion of a throuple.

She says: “A throuple is where three people decide to have a relationship it may vary between different throuples as to what the exact agreements are in some situations.

“There is a closed throuple where they are exclusively within three people – so say you and Jill and whoever you invite into your partnership.”

The former Ipswich striker however, has no intention of entertaining Shebahn saying: “Don’t be stupid.”

Undeterred, fellow Scot Shebahn continues to probe for an answer asking: “Would you not?”

She is cut off by Brazil who exasperatedly repeats himself stating: “Don’t be stupid.”

However, sensing that there is a chance to wind up her fellow Celtic supporter, the co-host continues to enquire about throuples.

Shebahn begins to smile and asks: “What if Jill came to you and said ‘Alan, I’ve met someone, the gardener down the lane who gardens naked is fit’.

“’I’d like to invite him into our couple, and we become a throuple’.”

The presenter and Agbonlahor both then begin to chuckle as Brazil explains exactly what he would do if that situation arose.

Brazil looks them both in the eyes and claims: “Do you know what I would do? Get out my passport and head to [London] City airport, viva Espana.”

Aware that Brazil has no intention of discussing the topic, Shebahn decides to come clean as to why the topic is being discussed.

She says: “David Haye does it, that’s why we’re talking about it this morning because it’s in The Sun today.”

Unimpressed, Brazil offers a scathing put-down of the boxer saying: “He’s had too many punches to the side of his head.”

Agbonlahor interjects having remained quiet for most of the discussing, asking: “Are you really against it, Al?”

Brazil turns to face the former Villa striker with a withering reply: “What? Oh listen to lover boy over here.”

This leads Shebahn to enquire whether Agbonlahor would ever entertain the notion of a throuple.

The former Aston Villa captain offers a wry smile along with his explanation saying: “I don’t mind it, me.”

Brazil seems to have come to the end of his tether and says: “Away you go, I’m not even talking about this – the world’s gone mad.”

However, keen to sway his friend, Agbonlahor states: “But Al, sometimes though when you’re lying on the sofa Shebahn, you’re having a nice cuddle sometimes you’ve got an arm free haven’t you?

“So I’m all for it me, I don’t mind it.”

Host Brazil isn’t for it and leans towards his mic bringing his pal back to reality says: “Gabby you’ve got seven kids.”

This leads to the studio bursting into laughter before Agbonlahor asks Shebahn whether she could entertain another partner.

However, the Glasgow born radio host reveals her hands are full, saying: “No I couldn’t, I just don’t have the energy for one husband to manage never mind -.”

She interjects herself as her thoughts turn to who would get to pick the partner and what gender they would be.

She says: “That’s the thing, who gets to choose what the gender is as well?”

But Brazil is finished with the conversation stating: “Don’t go there, not on this show. I’m not doing it – get lost.”

AN AMAZING video shows the moment a plane full of passengers are given some pre-flight entertainment by a member of the cabin crew – with a full bagpipe performance.

The incredible musical feat came as a surprise during the United Airlines flight between Edinburgh and Chicago, Illinois last week.

A male member of the cabin crew named Nic dazzled passengers with a performance of classic Scots songs including Flower of Scotland and Scotland the Brave.

Video begins with a member of the United Airlines cabin crew addressing the passengers on the telecom saying: “We have a special treat for you on this flight, one of our flight attendants, Nic, plays the bagpipes professionally.”

“As a final wave goodbye from Scotland before we land in America, he will be walking down the aisle one time playing the bagpipes.

“If you know the lyrics to the Flower of Scotland please sing along.”

The video then showcases Nic in all his glory as he wanders down the plane, flanked on each side by the passengers.

The flight attendant begins by playing Flower of Scotland as he ambles through the business class section of the flight.

He is met with approval from many passengers with countless raising their phones to video him and one in a yellow shirt and hat particularly delighted, flashing Nic a big thumbs up on his way past.

The talented musician then enters economy plus, where he finishes the national anthem of Scotland before launching into a rendition of Scotland the Brave.

Many passengers can be seen holding their phones high to capture the surreal performance in the sky as Nic finishes his musical medley.

The video ends with Nic returning to the front with his bagpipes whilst passengers applaud as Nic fist bumps an elderly passenger as a sign of appreciation for his talents.

He then flashes the camera a peace sign and a sigh of relief, signing off the video with a “Woo”.

The clip was shared on social media last week by United Airlines air hostess Alex Dye, who wrote: “Fly the friendly skies with United Airlines and you will not only get great service but possibly a show as well.

“Best trip with an even better crew – thanks Nic for the tunes along the way.”

The video has received over 7,000 likes with hundreds of comments from social media users who loved the performance.

One said: “I was on this flight, we thought it was awesome, it was a great way to break up a long eight-hour flight.”

Another added: “[I] would not mind one bit being woken up to this.”

A third replied: “Goosebumps.”

Another commented: “The way everyone’s excitedly got their phones out filming him, humans can be so cute sometimes.”

A fifth responded: “I would have been singing my wee heart out, absolutely brilliant, get me on that flight any day.”

JUDY Murray has slammed the Scottish Government over a lack of tennis facilities – just hours after son Sir Andy racked up his latest milestone in the sport.

Sir Andy had just won his first-round match at Flushing Meadows in the US Open earlier this week, marking his 200th win at a career Grand Slam event.

Mum Judy addressed her son’s achievement but used it to make a thinly-veiled dig at the perceived lack of courts in Scotland.

The 63-year-old, who is also mum to Grand Slam winner Jamie, felt that there hasn’t been enough development on a variety of courts to develop future stars in the country.

Judy, herself a tennis coach, took to social media yesterday, sharing news from the Tennis Channel that Sir Andy had reached the milestone, alongside her own thoughts.

She wrote: “Quite an achievement given we have no red clay courts like Roland Garros, no grass courts like Wimbledon.

“And no outdoor hard courts like US Open or Australian Open in Scotland. @scotgov @sportscotland.”

The Murray matriarch tagged both organisations to drive the point home as she reflected on her own son’s journey.

The three-time Grand Slam winner was sent to train in Spain as a promising teen, which Judy addressed with a fan who queried the set up in the UK.

The fan asked: “Did you not have him play in Spain as a child to nurture his talent outside the LTA? Speaks volumes about the set-up in the UK if true?”

Judy quickly replied: “Yes, he trained in Barcelona from 15 because we didn’t have the infrastructure in Scotland.

“No quality training environment in terms of track record or world class coaches or surfaces.

“Not enough like-minded sparring partners – not much has changed in 22 years.”

Murray’s post racked up over 5,200 likes and more than 90 comments from fans who echoed her frustrations.

One user said: “Unbelievable achievement. But what is even more unbelievable is the incompetence of Sport Scotland. You produced the greatest Scottish athlete ever and they still haven’t capitalized on it.”

Another added: “Judy hits the nail on the head. Not only is there a lack of tennis facilities but only the posh kids get selected to develop.

“Hence why British tennis is in the pits. Small group to select talent from and got no fighting grit.”

A third replied: “We struggle to have grass football pitches, far less grass tennis courts in Scotland. With rain and low temps most of the year, don’t fancy our chances. Are hard courts safe in pissing rain?”

Another joked: “If we could play in the back green, with yer ma’s washin’ as the net, we Scots would produce a whole series of world beaters.”

Murray will hope to continue his progress at the US Open later today as he faces the 19th seed Bulgarian Gregor Dimitrov at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

EAMONN Holmes has been slammed by Scots punters after it has been revealed what he will be charging fans to meet him at his upcoming tour.

The television host, who fronted ITV’s This Morning alongside wife Ruth Langsford for 15 years, announced that he is touring the United Kingdom in October to answer questions rather than ask them.

His first night of the tour will see Holmes at Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire on 18 October, where a standard ticket will cost £35.

However, it has been revealed that it’ll cost fans a staggering £80 just to meet the Northern Irishman up close and personal.

The 63-year-old shared the news of his upcoming tour on social media last week writing: “I’ve been asking the questions for 43 years, now I’m answering them on stage.

“The first venue is The Eastwood Park Theatre Glasgow on Wednesday 18 October, if you’re in the area and fancy a night of stories and laughs why don’t you join me?”

Fans of the newsreader have been quick to question the price with several wondering why the cost is so high – and many admitting the £80 cost might see them miss out on meeting the star.

Ken Ferguson said: “I’ll pass on that.”

Violet Andersen said: “These celebrities get paid enough, they should pay to shake the hand of the people that made them, watched them and listened to them to make them what/who they are today.”

Richard Innes said: “Any star who asks for payment to meet their fans should be ashamed. If no one paid, they wouldn’t charge.”

Marion Steele said: “I like Eamonn, but I wouldn’t pay to meet him, he’s minted and I’m skint lol on yer bike, Eamonn.”

Amelia Dzierozynski said: “Absolutely hilarious. Who in the hell wants to [meet him] or even pay…ffs Eamonn get a grip. If you do pay £80 to meet him, wow what a waste. Think what you could’ve bought.”

Whilst topics yet to be covered are unknown, fans may get to hear Holmes’ side of working behind the scenes at This Morning during the current crisis involving fellow host Philip Schofield.

Holmes began his career in television over four decades ago when he joined Ulster Television and has rarely been off-screen since including spells fronting some of the UK’s favourite shows.

THIS is the moment a Gerard Butler fan is rebuffed by security after her pleas to take a picture with the Scots actor.

The scenes unfolded at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday as Scotland hosted Georgia in their final warm-up match before the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The actor recently narrated and starred in the announcement video for Scotland’s World Cup squad, and was a keen spectator as the home side won the match 33-6.

However, before the game kicked off, the announcement video was played at the stadium, who turned to give Butler a round of applause – which is when the fan appeared to take her chance.

The video, filmed by a match-goer from the upper tiers of the stands, begins with a shot of Butler, who is sitting in the front row of the VIP section at Murrayfield behind a security gate and Perspex screen.

The girl, dressed in a camel coat and jeans whilst draped in a Georgia flag, appears excited to have spotted the 300 star and pleads with security to let her ask the actor for a picture.

However, the security staff are unwilling and refuse to move from their spot in front of the gate, leading the girl to try her best to get Butler’s attention.

The girl looks towards the PS I Love You actor who appears to be engaged in conversation with the people either side of him.

He then applauds at the end of the squad announcement and whips the crowd up by fist pumping towards a large section of Scotland supporters.

Behind the camera, two men can be heard discussing the girls plan saying: “Aye, she’s trying to get the security guy to let her up.

“Shameless but I want to see what happens.”

His friend then chimes in, saying: “How do people feel having people just standing there?”

The pair conclude: “He’s [security] just going to keep standing there until they go away.”

The girl’s mum then appears to snap several pictures of the Hollywood star without her daughter before the pair make their exit.

The video was shared on social media yesterday with the caption: “POV ur begging Gerard Butler for a pic.”

The video received dozens of likes with comments from social-media users who panned the attempts of the fan.

One said: “Nah that’s too much.”

Another added: “So awkward.”

A third replied: “What a minter.”

A STILL Game star has revealed how he was left in tears after filming the final scene of the show’s last episode.

Gavin Mitchell, who played Boaby the Barman for all nine series of the hit Scots television show told of how he wasn’t aware that he was even crying until a make-up artist slipped him a tissue between takes.

Speaking on The Robin Galloway Breakfast Show on Pure Radio last Friday, the 58-year-old revealed he couldn’t hold back his emotions after delivering the last line of the show.

Pure Radio released a clip of the pair discussing the climax of the show, which features an aged Boaby uttering his classic line: “Look who it isnae”.

Host Galloway asked Mitchell, whose character manned the bar at local pub The Clansman, about how the last Still Game had affected him more than the end of any other series of the show.

Mitchell replied: “Yeah, I think it’s just because I had the final word and so it was quite a weird scene, that scene.”

Mitchell revealed how he was all alone for the entirety of the journey to film the scene as the rest of the cast had filmed their finales.

He said: “Normally, we’re all together when we get picked up in the morning, we get picked up in a van and we travel in together.

“We all did scenes in The Clansman but that was a really unusual morning because I was on my own.

“I got picked up in a cab, taken down [to the studio] no one else was there, taken into make-up and they turned me into old Boaby as it were.”

The actor then told how those behind the camera paid their respects by refusing to look him in the eye as he walked towards The Clansman one last time.

Mitchell recalled: “We then walked on set, and nobody would look at me, everybody kind of respectfully kind of put their heads down and wouldn’t make eye contact.

“[I] walked on set and they’d rehearsed the camera move so it was really smooth, didn’t have to spend a lot of time.

“[I] did two takes, the first take I got it right because I’m damn good, but we did one for safety and the make-up girl came in to check on me, Anne-Marie.

“When she was checking my wig and make-up she just gently turned me round.”

Anne-Marie had realised that the actor had begun to tear up without noticing and slipped him a tissue between takes as the enormity of the scene hit home for Mitchell.

He said: “I could feel her putting something in my right hand and I thought ‘What’s that?’ I looked down and it was a tissue.

“She just pointed at my eyes and I realised I was crying and I didn’t even realise it, it was bizarre.

“I think there was just a lot of weight in that one line – you knew it was the end.”

Pure Radio shared the clip to social media on Friday with the caption: “Boaby the Barman on filming the last ever scene of Still Game.”

The video has since received over 10,000 likes and dozens of comments from fans who were quick to share their own thoughts on the touching ending to the show.

One said: “I know a lot of people that cried at the end.”

Another added: “Superb ending to a fantastic show.”

A third replied: “Absolutely brilliant last episode, gutted it was [the end] though.”

Another responded: “It broke my heart, I wasn’t ready.”

Still Game was first broadcast on 6 September 2002 and ran for six series before eventually returning for a further three series which ended on the 28 March 2019.

FORMER Hibs winger Aiden McGeady has bit back at his old boss Lee Johnson with claims that the manager had “retired” him twice in the media.

The 37-year-old joined Johnson at the Edinburgh side in June 2022 but spent a majority of last season nursing a knee injury as well as hamstring issues.

The ex-Republic of Ireland international has now found steady ground at Somerset Park with Ayr United in a dual role and spoke of his disappointment about last season on Saturday.

The winger has assumed a technical manager role at the club, whilst also turning out for the Honest Men in their Championship campaign this season.

After his Ayr United side were knocked out of the League Cup by Livingston, he said: “Lee Johnson probably retired me twice in the media to be honest.

“Maybe when I came back playing against Motherwell, my first game back, I spoke about it [retirement].

“It was just dark times; I was going into the training ground every single day for four months and that was probably the lowest when I thought is there any real point in this?”

However, the Celtic stalwart – who delighted crowds at Parkhead before a bumper move to Spartak Moscow in 2010 – told how he knew he was still up to the task once he regained full fitness.

The 93-cap Ireland star said: “Then, when I was fit again, I was like well I can play, no bother.”

The former Hibee and the current Hibs boss were often allegedly involved in spats throughout the last year.

Boss Johnson claimed that he feared McGeady’s career was over in March after the wide man tore his hamstring in a Hibs win over Kilmarnock.

Speaking at the time the Hibs boss said: “Whatever he [Aiden] decides, if he wants to make a full return to playing then absolutely, we will support that.

“Obviously, he’s got a lot of experience to give in football, whether that be another year or two as a player or whether that be stepping into a new adventure.

“I’d never, ever retire a football player. It’s up to them to decide when the time is right.”

Hibs fans were quick to react to McGeady’s comments over the weekend after they themselves progressed into the last eight of the Scottish League cup.

One said: “It was just a couple of years too late for him and ultimately failed at Hibs, on (sic) hindsight Hibs should never had (sic) signed him.”

Another added: “He can have no complaints about his time at Hibs, he was constantly, constantly injured.”

A third replied: “He was a waste of a wage for us – simple as that.”

Hibs welcome Aston Villa to Easter Road this evening in a crunch Europa Conference League Play-Off match.

The game is a sell-out and has been billed as the club’s biggest game since their Scottish Cup victory over Rangers in 2016.
