A HILARIOUS video shows a Brit tricking his friend to visit the “worst restaurant in London” – with some surprising results.

Harrison Webb decided to prank pal Sebastian Gomez with a trip to Ristorante Roma in Leicester Square, West London – an Italian eatery with just 1.5 stars out of five on TripAdvisor.

Despite 130 of its 179 ratings being “terrible”, and the duo being charged an eye-watering £27 for three tap waters, Harrison, 26, was left astonished by his mate’s final verdict of the restaurant.

The video begins with Harrison saying: “I took my friend to the worst restaurant in London and didn’t tell him.

“People were complaining and they even made us switch tables while eating, would you eat here?

“The twist of this video, I’m not going to tell him we’re going to the worst Italian restaurant, I’m just going to ‘forget’ to tell him and see what he does.”

The clip then cuts to Harrison meeting an ecstatic Sebastian as they shake hands and embrace before heading off to the restaurant.

The video then transitions to the pair inside the restaurant as Harrison says “Got the drinks, cheers”, before the pair clink their glasses together and Sebastian adds: “Cheers.”

Harrison then says “A little taste test” as the pair silently sip their alcoholic beverages before Sebastian gives his verdict.

Sebastian says: “One out of five British flags.”

Later, the food arrives to their table, consisting of a penne arrabbiata for Harrison whilst Sebastian opts for a margherita pizza and a truffle tagliatelle.

The video shows the pair trying to eat the pasta, as Sebastian struggles to fit it into his mouth, resulting in much of it falling out.

However, Harrison’s American pal then surprisingly says: “This is delicious, I really like it.”

Harrison asks “Yeah?” before Sebastian says: “Genuinely.”

Next, Sebastian can be seen grappling with the very cheesy margarita pizza as he pulls it apart saying: “It’s so cheesy, I’m burning my hand.

“You brought me to little Italy, I don’t know what this place is.”

Harrison duly responds: “This is Italy.”

Sebastian says: “This doesn’t even count as Little Italy.”

“Yes, it is”, says Harrison.

Despite his apparent love for the food, Sebastian appears to be unimpressed by the general standards, saying: “No. Bro, I don’t even know what to say, I’m in shock bro.”

The video then shows the pair carrying their plates to another table after bizarrely being made to move table mid-meal.

Harrison can then be seen evaluating the receipt – which came to £90 in total – as he shockingly reveals: “We’ve got three tap waters on there for £27.”

Finally, the video shows the pair walking out of the restaurant as Sebastian says: “It was delicious.”

Harrison then says to his friend: “Seb, I have something to tell you. So, I took you to the worst rated Italian restaurant.”

Sebastian then laughs and screams: “I effing knew it. There’s no way.”

Harrison uploaded the clip to social media on Friday with the caption: “I tried the worst reviewed restaurant in London.”

The video has since received over 16,500 likes and dozens of comments from shocked users.

One user wrote: “I thought it’s illegal to charge for tap water?”

Another commented: “Poor Seb is not gonna wanna go back to London.”

A third said: “Please don’t tell me you paid £27 for water.”

Another replied: “This is actually a very funny prank.”

A fifth commented: “You brought the nicest guy that even if he was brought the absolute wrong meal, he’d eat it with a smile.”

Speaking today Harrison said: “My friend Sebastian Gomez surprised me with a spontaneous trip to London, reaching out on the day he arrived.

“It had been years since we last met, so we decided to catch up. We went to Bondi Green by Daisy Green, one of my favourite places to enjoy a delightful meal.

“We ordered a variety of small plates, including steak, chicken, and pizza, along with a few margaritas to share.

“Sebastian absolutely loved the experience, which gave me the idea to purposely take him to the worst restaurant in London to see how he would react.

“A few years prior, I visited The Palace Cafe (the worst restaurant in London at the time) with my brother for a YouTube video.

“However, as I checked TripAdvisor to see if any new contenders had emerged, I stumbled upon Ristorante Roma, which is the one I took Sebastian to.

“Interestingly, I found out that they rebranded due to poor reviews, hoping to fool unsuspecting tourists in Leicester Square again.

“Deliberately heading to a bad restaurant knowing what you’re in for is a really odd thing to do, but I always try to be extra polite and not let anything bother me.

“Our order consisted of two mojitos, a Fanta, penne arrabbiata, truffle mushroom tagliatelle, and a margherita pizza.

“The pizza (£14.95) was a disappointment, the saying ‘even bad pizza is good pizza’ was proved otherwise by this place, it was drowning in cheddar cheese and grease on top.

“The arrabbiata (£14.95) was passable but tasted like a diluted store-bought sauce with some chopped peppers thrown in.

“The mushroom tagliatelle (£17.95) lacked any trace of truffle, I had expected at least a hint of truffle oil, but there was none to be found.

“Sebastian was gracious enough to express his enjoyment, but I remained unconvinced. The Fanta (£4.95) – I don’t think even Michelin star restaurants charge that much for a soft drink.

“The Mojitos (£13.90 each) – I couldn’t taste any alcohol it just tasted like a mint-flavoured sprite.

“While we were eating, a family of six arrived, and we were asked to move tables.

“It was unclear why they couldn’t have simply added a table on to the table next to us, but thankfully we recorded it as proof.

“As expected, we waited a while for the bill, observing other diners voicing complaints and leaving half-eaten plates behind. I don’t see myself returning unless it’s to play a prank on someone else.

“However, I doubt we’d be welcomed back, so I’ll keep an eye out for the next worst-rated restaurant.”

SOCIAL media users have been left shocked after a Scots mum revealed the contents of the famous Baby Box gifted to all expecting families of babies born in Scotland.

Rachel Clenaghan is currently 36 weeks pregnant with her second child, and received her expected box from the Scottish Government through the post on Wednesday.

The Scottish Government introduced the initiative in 2017, sending a box packed with supplies and essential items to help ensure babies in the country get the “best start in life“.

Rachel, from Dundee, decided to share the generous contents of her second care package online – prompting a slew of envious replies from users overseas.

The video begins with Rachel prizing open the cardboard box with scissors, as on-screen text reads: “Unbox my Scottish Baby Box with me at 36 weeks pregnant.”

Rachel explains: “Today we received our Scottish Baby Box, which every family in Scotland is entitled to when they are expecting a baby and it is free from the Scottish Government.

“So, I thought I would unbox it with you guys and show you what came inside.”

The large white box can be seen featuring drawings which are intended to be coloured in, which Rachel expands on.

She says: “The actual box itself comes beautifully illustrated and I think the whole point is so that the younger family can decorate it for the new arrival.

“Or, in my case I might actually go and get my colouring pens out and do it myself because that is just so tempting to colour in.”

Rachel then pops the box open to reveal well-packed layers of supplies and items to help mums and dads along on the start of their journey.

Rachel continues: “The point in the box is so that every baby has got the same start in life and the actual box itself is made so that a baby can actually sleep in it.

“Inside included an envelope on how to breastfeed, hand express for colostrum, safe sleep, a gorgeous wee poem and then a voucher for reusable nappies which is new because I didn’t get that with Junior.

“It also included some bits for mum, so some maternity pads and breast pads which I just think is such a lovely touch.”

All the contents inside the envelope offer mums an informative and detailed step-by-step guide to different aspects of motherhood, through useful graphics and drawings.

Rachel then reveals the baby’s side of things, with playmats, books and toys abound.

She continues: “There is a gorgeous play mat, which is absolutely massive by the way, and a tummy time book which wasn’t included last time either and I think that’s absolutely brilliant.

“There’s a lovely wee book to share and then something to go on the car seat or the pram, a teething toy and then this thermometer which we used through our whole time with Junior.

“Then a bath and a room thermometer which comes in handy. It also comes with some essential bits like a sponge, toothbrush and some nail files for your baby.”

Rachel then pulls out a giraffe-themed baby blanket as she quips: “If you’re from Scotland you know this baby comfort because they’re always on Facebook saying that they’ve gone missing and that they’re desperate to get them back.

“There’s a travel changing mat which comes in handy – this was the best thing and it’s a baby wrap, I used this though my whole newborn stage of Junior, it was absolutely brilliant.

“They give you an amazing selection of vests, long sleeves and short sleeves from newborn 0-3 months and 3-6 months as well, along with a couple of sleepsuits and then these romper-style outfits as well.

“Just a couple of pair lf grey leggings, so it’s all unisex and then this gorgeous cosy jacket.

“There’s also a bunch of essential baby accessories, so a hat, bib, muslin squares, mittens and then some socks. Some condoms as well and then a nice hooded towel.

“A cellular blanket for your baby is very similar to the one you get in the hospital and then two fitted sheets because it also gives you a mattress that goes inside the box that you can use as a bed.

“The fact that they even give you this mattress is brilliant.

“Honestly, I can’t believe we’re so lucky to receive something like this, I feel like it should be available everywhere.”

Rachel uploaded the video to social media on Wednesday with the caption: “So amazing we get all this it helps out lots.”

The clip has since received over 470,000 likes and more than 5,800 comments from users left stunned by the countless contents of the box.

One user wrote: “Not the American baby box search being parents dropping their kids off at a fire station.”

Another commented: “Free baby box, free prescriptions, free school meals, free university, only in Scotland.”

A third wrote: “I absolutely adore that every parent gets a baby box regardless of socioeconomic status.”

Another said: “I actually don’t mind paying higher taxes in Scotland for things like this.”

A supplier of the Baby Box replied: “We love being a part of Scotland’s Baby Box scheme. Every mum is so lucky to get this.”

Speaking today Rachel said: “This is the second one I received as I got one with my son, but it’s been updated so was still exciting to receive it.

“To get one, your midwife gives you a leaflet which has a stamp on it from your hospital to prove your pregnancy – this was given to me around the 24-week mark.

“You have to fill it out with your name, address and due date then the leaflet has free postage on it which you just pop in a letter box.”

NHS Scotland explain: “Every newborn baby born and living in Scotland can get a Baby Box.

“When you’re about 20 to 24 weeks pregnant, your midwife will fill in a Baby Box registration card with you at your regular antenatal appointment.

“You will receive your Baby Box about 4 weeks before your baby’s due date.

“Your Baby Box will be delivered to the preferred delivery address that you put on your registration card.

“You will get a text, an email or a letter a week before the delivery so that you will know the day the box will be arriving. Then on the day, you will get a time slot so you will know exactly when it’s coming.”

A SCOTTISH home development plan in underway which will see 400 new homes being built.

A sod cutting ceremony has been held to mark the beginning of the delivery of 100 new social homes for Sanctuary Scotland in South Queensferry.

The properties are part of Lovell Partnerships’ The Crossings at Bridgewater Village development, which will bring around 400 homes to the area.

The Crossings will be a mixed-tenure development of 398 homes and 14 commercial units, delivered in partnership by Lovell Partnerships, Sanctuary Scotland,  Sigma Capital, the Scottish Government and City of Edinburgh Council.

Development of the new site is expected to deliver around 200 jobs, directly by Lovell and through the supply chain.

Many of the new roles will be for apprentices, including joiners and bricklayers.

Lovell is proud to support the local community everywhere they build and, in addition to creating jobs, has invested nearly £7million in local business.

The sod cutting ceremony took place on Scottish Housing Day, which this year focuses on housing as a career. It was attended by City of Edinburgh Council Housing Convenor, Councillor Jane Meagher.

The development is set to boost housing stock in the area, with several impressive views of the historic bridges crossing the Forth.

Those properties not earmarked for Sanctuary Scotland will be rented by Sigma Capital or sold on the open market by Lovell Homes.

The Crossings will include active travel infrastructure and measures such as rain gardens and green/blue infrastructure that work with the water cycle to promote the health of the site and proper water management.

The homes will also be environmentally sustainable, using solar panels and energy efficient boilers.

The Crossings will be a 20-minute neighbourhood, meaning that residents will be able to have most of their daily needs met within a short walk or cycle.

Sarah Freel, Head of Partnerships at Lovell, said: “We are particularly proud to be working with Sanctuary Scotland to provide social housing at this development, which will go towards achieving the Scottish Government’s target of building 110,000 affordable homes by 2032.”

“With views of the historic Forth bridges and great access to amenities, this development is certain to be one of Edinburgh’s most desirable neighbourhoods.

“Today’s sod-cutting ceremony marks the start of this exciting new community, which will become home to many families over the coming years.”

Gillian Lavety, Sanctuary’s Development Director for Scotland, commented: “As a leading national housing association, we’re committed to ensuring local people have access to affordable, good-quality homes.

“The Crossings at Bridgewater Village is an exciting development that will make a real difference, and we’re delighted to be working with our partners to help meet the established need for more affordable homes in the area.”

Housing, Homelessness and Fair Work Convener, Councillor Jane Meagher said: “Today marks Scottish Housing Day and it is important to use this opportunity to reflect on this hugely important sector, not just here in Edinburgh but across the country.

“It was fantastic to be able to mark the day by attending the ceremony to see the start of construction of one hundred social rented homes here in South Queensferry.

“This exciting start represents an important step forward in the area’s development and will help to alleviate some of the critical pressures that face the Edinburgh’s housing sector.”

A FOOTIE fan snapped a photo of his chance meeting with Manchester United star Jadon Sancho, only to later notice a surprise cameo from a famous strongman in the background.

Kieran Wilson was travelling on a family holiday to New York from Manchester Airport when he spotted winger Sancho in the queue next to him.

Starstruck, the 19-year-old approached Sancho, 23, for a picture, which the England international gladly agreed to.

However, it was only after later viewing the snap that Kieran from Manchester, Lancashire, realised that the pair had been photobombed by none other than former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall.

In the picture, Kieran is standing towards the front of the passport control queue alongside the former Borussia Dortmund forward.

Sancho, clad in a simple grey hoodie and a black cap, smiles with his arm around Kieran as fellow passengers glance at the duo.

However, in the background of the photo, the hulking figure of 35-year-old Hall can be seen, towering over his fellow passengers.

The six-time UK’s Strongest Man champion sports a mohawk and a black t-shirt that reads “Beast” as he wryly smiles at the camera, with both Kieran and Sancho seemingly blissfully unaware of his presence.

Kieran shared the photo with a Premier League player-dedicated social media account on Wednesday who duly shared it online.

The caption reads: “Jadon Sancho was on my flight to New York. I asked him for a photo in the passport control queue, it was only later I realised that Eddie Hall was photobombing us.”

The post has since received over 6,000 likes and dozens of comments by fans left stunned by Hall’s cameo appearance.

One user joked: “The two kings of the bench.”

Another said: “Crazy photo.”

A third commented: “Possibly the best submission yet.”

Another quipped: “Both love the bench.”

Speaking today Kieran said: “I had a friend who was in first class, I spoke to him during the flight and he said Jadon Sancho was sat near him, obviously I didn’t believe him at first.

“We got off the flight, still chatting to him and I eventually saw Sancho and made sure we were next to him in the passport control queue.

“I was absolutely starstruck to see him before my very eyes, on his own less than a metre away from me.

“I eventually plucked up the courage to ask Jadon for a photo, he was more than happy to and we got a few snaps before leaving him alone.

“Somehow from my memory, we were the only people on the entire flight to ask him for a photo, despite the plane leaving from Manchester.

“It was good conversation, we spoke a little bit about United’s season, his time at Dortmund as one of my good friends is a Dortmund fan, and about football in general.

“We eventually got through the passport border, grabbing our suitcases not far away from him before he came over and politely said it was nice to meet us and to enjoy our holiday.

“My friend had a better phone than me so I used his to grab the photo so I could get the best quality picture I could, but this wasn’t before I used my phone to grab the first one, which is the one where you can see Eddie.

“The funny part is, Eddie is turned towards our photo, fully in shot and even pulled his mask down to show it was definitely him.

“Overall, that whole hour or so was a memory I’ll remember forever, not only how nice Jadon was and the conversation we had, but to get that photo with Eddie in the background was unbelievable!”

Sancho was controversially dropped from Manchester United’s matchday squad amid their 3-1 loss to Arsenal last weekend.

Red Devils manager Erik Ten Hag then explained to press his reasoning for Sancho’s lack of involvement, saying: “Jadon, on his performance in training, was not selected.

“You have to reach a level at Manchester United every day and we can make choices in the front line. So, for this game he was not selected.”

The attacker then tweeted his side of the story posting: “”Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.

“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into.

“I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.

“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players… I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

The England international has been capped 23 times but didn’t make the cut for Gareth Southgate’s squad in their upcoming fixtures against Ukraine and Scotland.

A BIZARRE video shows a woman drinking a pint of Guinness in a baffling way – by using a spoon.

The unidentified woman was snapped sitting by herself at a high table in Town Square bar and restaurant in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Whether familiar with the stout or not, the punter seemed to defy social norms by whipping out a dessert spoon to dunk into the dark ruby red pint.

The clip, filmed from the perspective of a bartender, begins with the woman reaching into the folds of her jacket and producing a silver spoon.

The video then zooms in as the woman brazenly dunks the utensil into the foam head of the Guinness and pulling out a spoonful of it.

She then proceeds to tuck in some more, lapping up the drink as though it were hot soup, enjoying her quiet pint in a truly unique fashion.

The video was shared to social media by Town Square’s official page two weeks ago with the caption: “We’ve seen a lot of things in our time but eating a pint of Guinness with a spoon is a first.”

The clip has since racked up over 130,000 likes and more than 1,400 comments from baffled pub-goers.

One user wrote: “Straight to jail.”

Another said: “It’s called breakfast, and comes with a side of ciggies.”

A third commented: “She brought her own spoon, at least she’s prepared.”

Another replied: “100% she’s American.”

Guinness themselves even replied, saying: “Good soup.”

Speaking today Town Square said: “We couldn’t believe what we were seeing. We know that a pint of Guinness is like a meal but it’s certainly not soup.

“The reaction to the video has been crazy. We’re on seven million views and counting.

“It’s evidence that a good pint of Guinness is respected the world over and that people don’t like when someone messes with it.”

Guinness is an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James’s Gate in Dublin, Ireland, in 1759 and remains a favourite across Ireland and Northern Ireland today.

Pouring the “perfect pint” of Guinness involves several steps, with the brewer recommending that a draught be served at 6-7°C through a “double pour”.

The first pour sees bar staff fill a pint glass ¾ full at a 45° angle before slowly tilting it to a vertical stance and letting it sit for 119 seconds before the second pour tops it off.

A HOLIDAY-MAKER has been left fuming after arriving at her five-star hotel to allegedly find her room infested with bugs, and dead rats lying outside the restaurant.

Suzanne Walder booked a stay at Riu Touareg hotel in Boa Vista, Cape Verde last month with a group of pals for a friend’s 50th birthday.

The 58-year-old booked the all-inclusive, week-long, £15,000 stay through travel company TUI, who had promised a resort leaving you “wanting for nothing“.

However, Suzanne, from Ashford, Kent, quickly saw their dream trip turn into a holiday from hell as she claims they arrived at a “filthy” hotel ridden with vermin and pests, and falling apart at the seams.

Suzanne claims that when she and her pals first arrived at their rooms, they noticed bugs in the bedsheets and soft furnishings, as well as falling from the vent in the bathroom.

She also alleges that the all-inclusive meals that they were promised were the exact same every night -consisting of microwaved burgers, sandwiches and a fruit bowl.

The holiday-making Brit claims she also spotted two dead rats outside of the main restaurant, and that the swimming pool was so dirty that people’s legs weren’t visible when taking a dip.

Complaining to the hotel, Suzanne says that her group was offered complimentary champagne, but three of their party ended up suffering from diarrhoea the following day.

Images allegedly snapped at the hotel by Suzanne show unsanitary conditions throughout the premises, with dead rats lying next to walls, stains on their bedding and mould on the curtains.

Chipped pool tiles and cloudy swimming water is also visible, as well as countless rat droppings littered around the resort.

Sharing the images alongside a post to Facebook yesterday Suzanne wrote: “A party of 10 adults arrived at Rui Touareg five-star platinum hotel booked with TUI.

“We arrived on 18 August for a seven-night 50th belated birthday and a relaxing holiday (well how wrong were we) we were all put into block nine in the hotel which we found out had an infestation of bugs.

“We had to put towels down [on] both sides of the door to stop the bugs coming into the room, bugs in the clothes, in the bed, and falling from the vent in the bathroom.

“After two days of complaining to the TUI rep we were all moved to block three, a bit better but a strong smell of stagnant water.

“[In] The main dinner hall, the food is the same every day every night, what doesn’t get eaten is warmed up again for the evening, disgusting.

“The floors are so greasy you’re slipping everywhere. I saw one of the cooks try to pick a hair from the tray with her gloves on.

“She couldn’t pick it out so she tipped the cooked food on top of it. [There were] stained tablecloths and chipped cutlery.

“[In the] Open-front restaurant the birds have a feast at breakfast and lunch-time, sitting on the large lanterns, waiting to fly down onto the pastries.

“The snacks in the evening were leftover cooked burgers, sandwiches and fruit in a bowl. If you wanted a burger, you put it in the microwave to reheat. Disgusting.

“The main swimming pool is absolutely disgraceful – filthy, broken tiles in and around the pool. You cannot even see people’s feet standing in the water, that’s how dirty the water is .

“I don’t know how anybody gets into pool; the water is filthy. Drink cups all around the edge of the pool with lemons floating in the water from people’s drinks, the pool needs to be shut down.

“The entertainment is very, very poor, finished at 10:30 every night.

“Drinks – lemonade, Coke, flat cocktails, premade in a slush puppy machine. And if you’re going to drink water drink it from the bottles, not from the jugs of water they give you at lunchtime as it tastes awful .

“There were cats everywhere and now we know why, we saw two dead rats and saw a cat catch a mouse outside the main restaurant.

“We could not get booked in any of the pre-booked restaurants as fully booked.

“After having two meetings with the managers, regarding the rooms, the pool, the restaurants, and the rats, one of the managers managed to get us booked into the Asian restaurant with a free bottle of champagne – the next day, three people from our party had sickness and diarrhoea.

“Out of our seven days of what we thought was going to be relaxing and celebrating a belated 50th birthday, we spent hours every morning with the TUI rep trying to get updates sorting rooms out.

“After speaking to Scott, he offered us a holiday voucher per couple which we all excepted.

“We came home on 25 August and none of us have received our voucher yet but it does say on the confirmation which he sent us it could take up to 28 days so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

“We paid a hell of a lot of money for a holiday we didn’t get.

“Please, if you’re thinking about booking this hotel and you’re expecting a five-star platinum hotel you’re not going to get it.”

The post has since received over 100 likes and more than 150 comments from users left disgusted by Suzanne’s claims.

Jean Hall Hampton wrote: “Disgusting, it’s put me off booking it.”

Gemma Lund replied: “I went here beginning of June and found the same with the resort, was my first time to Cape Verde and trying a five-star hotel, no way should this be advertised as a five-star hotel.

“The food is disgusting and half cooked as well as repetitive. From the moment I stepped off the plane, I couldn’t wait to get back on it.

“The rooms are terrible, parents letting their kids run all over the place and staff not saying anything about it, to parents or family members.

“This experience has now put me off trying anymore so called five-star hotels and returning to Cape Verde ever again.”

Robin Dixon added: “Would want a full refund discussing.”

Lesley Barker commented: “That’s a disgrace. Public health should close this place down and shame on TUI for putting you at risk.

“Time TUI were called out on TV for their ever-increasing shabby treatment of customers.”

Speaking today Suzanne said: “I booked this holiday for ten of us for my sister in law’s 50th birthday and obviously feel awful but the reviews don’t reflect the reality of this hotel.

“I go away a lot with TUI and other holiday companies and we do as a group, we have never complained and we totally get that five-star varies around the world.

“But this hotel is one of TUI’s biggest and should have been one of the best and as a big company a five-star rating should be a standard service across all their hotels.

“It was dirty, bug-ridden and dangerous and we have all suffered bad stomachs since staying here. The staff were great and beaches were amazing but that was the only part that we liked.

“They [initially] offered us a sand dune ride, a meal then £450 per couple. Then, when we went into a meeting due to being ignored, we were offered £1,000 a couple but we never received anything.

“The holiday was £2,800 a couple so not even half was offered. Plus, airport parking and hotel stay the night before was so expensive, so the holiday was £15,000 for the ten of us.”

“It is definitely the worst place I have stayed.

“I have done cheaper holidays over the years and lower star holidays but as we as a group have got older, we tend to book nicer holidays and this was definitely soul-destroying.”

Suzanne continued: “I arrange most holidays and felt awful that my sister in law’s birthday holiday was a disaster.

“We didn’t feel it was a relaxing break at all, we spent an hour most mornings with the rep who probably wanted to hide from us, but we weren’t the only people complaining.

“We didn’t realise the medical facilities were so bad on the island either and, as I had a bad accident a couple of years ago, with how slippery the floors were there – especially when it rained – I was worried all the time about falling again.

“I class myself as someone who is pretty fit but after smashing my hip and leg and having a new hip, I am very wary.

“We have only decided to follow this up to try and stop others experiencing this as families with children should not be using these pools and having to waste time and a lot of money on what’s meant to be a five-star dream holiday.”

TUI has been contacted for comment.

A SCOTS specialist flooring contractor has raised more than £2000 for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) at its third annual charity golf day.

The Fife-based company, Advanced Traditional Screeding hosted the golf day at Murrayfield Golf Club in Edinburgh with both golfers and non-golfers contributing to a memorable occasion attended by clients, suppliers and construction companies from across the UK.

All proceeds from the event went to CHAS, which for over 30 years has been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

Once the last putt had been holed and the final donations made, £2435 had been raised for the charity which is based in the Capital and has hospices in Kinross (Rachel House) and Balloch (Robin House).

“We’re delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause,” said ATS managing director Jason Lister.

“The day was fabulous from start to finish and we couldn’t have wished for better weather.

“A huge thanks to everyone who contributed, their generosity was incredible. It was a real team effort on the day and we’re already looking forward to next year!”

CHAS works tirelessly to ensure no matter how short a time that families may have together, that it is filled with happiness. Even in the pain of grief, the charity is determined that joy lives on.

Fiona Young, Community Fundraiser at CHAS, said: “Thank you to everyone involved with the golf day for raising such a tremendous amount of money and all the support ATS has shown to CHAS over the years. It is really appreciated by everyone at CHAS.

“The money raised will help CHAS families make precious memories together that will last a lifetime and support them through the most difficult of journeys.”

A BRIT has told the hilarious story of the unique way he heckled James Acaster – with a spot-on impression of the comedian.

Tommy Moore was in attendance at Acaster’s Hecklers Welcome tour in Camden Roundhouse, London last month when the comedian addressed the crowd with a story.

The 25-year-old, being a keen fan of Acaster, 38, seized his chance and belted out an uncanny impression of his idol, leaving the theatre in stitches and the comedian bemused.

Tommy told of his story in a video which he introduced with: “I have a little story time about how I managed to do my impression of James Acaster for James Acaster; it was a very cool moment.

“I went to his show which is called Hecklers Welcome – it’s basically like a kind of show where he gets used to hecklers calling stuff out.

“Most of the hecklers are terrible but I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to shout my impression out and see if he likes it.

“So, I’m sat there its in the second half, I’m a bit nervous in the first but he starts doing this joke where he’s like -“

Tommy then switches into character with a brilliant impression of the eccentric comedian’s delivery.

He says: “Well, I knew me and my girlfriend were perfect for each other when she told me that she’d taken a picture of a horse, a meme of a horse to the hairdresser to describe what she wanted done to her hair.

“I wonder if anyone’s ever taken a meme of me to the hairdresser, you know I’ve been in a few memes.”

Tommy then returns to his own voice saying: “Instantly my ears pricked up, I was like ‘I know the meme he’s talking about’.”

Tommy then switches back to his impression to recount Acaster’s routine, continuing: “I’m sure they showed a picture of it and then ended up with a haircut like Paul Hollywood.

“I’m sure you guys know the meme I’m talking about.”

Tommy then says in his voice: “I’m like, yeah, I do know the meme, so there’s a brief pause and then I go – ‘Started making it. Had a breakdown. Bon Appetit’.”

Tommy then describes the crowd’s reaction saying: “Everyone in the crowd lost it, laughing so hard and James was like: ‘Yeah, that’s what that moment needed.

“‘That moment was missing subtext – I’m very glad that you provided that. Although, very good impression – really good impression – unless you just sound like that in which case I’m very sorry’.”

Continuing to recall Acaster’s reaction in the uncanny likeness, Tommy revealed the comedian said: “‘I’m trying my hardest not to pretend that really didn’t annoy me, that really did.

“‘The fact that you did that so well has really p***ed me off’.”

“That’s actually a really solid impression, I don’t know how I’m going to get back into my stuff now.”

Tommy shared the video to TikTok last month with the caption: “I did my impression of James Acaster for James Acaster.”

The clip has since received over 2,000 likes and dozens of comments from users left in stitches by the eerily accurate impression.

One user wrote: “Went to see James last night and he didn’t do the bit about him being a meme! Maybe he knew it had peaked.”

Another said: “I was in the audience and instantly knew it was you saying it.”

A third commented: “He must have been like ‘what?!'”

Another wrote: “Life = made.”

Speaking today Tommy said: “The crowd absolutely loved it and James was slightly bemused but ultimately enjoyed it.

“I’ve been doing the impression for about two years now.

“Been a big fan of his for ages. I really enjoy silly humour but that remains quite clever.

“His special Repertoire, I think, does that perfectly and ties itself together really well.

“I also adore his panel show appearances, especially his stories on Would I Lie To You.

“I have a special fondness for the tale about a bush in Basingstoke.”

EDINBURGH’S transformation continues as property developer, S Harrison Developments has submitted a planning application for a c. £100 million residential-led development at Ocean Point 2 in Leith.

These plans will be in addition to the ongoing transformation of the Waterfront and delivering further vibrancy to the area.

Neighbouring Ocean Point 1, the development of the brownfield site will provide two buildings and comprise a mix of build-to-rent homes (BTR), including apartments specifically for families, alongside purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), delivering a truly mixed community.

In total, 120 BTR homes are proposed, providing a mix of studio, one-bed, two-bed and three-bed apartments to meet a range of housing needs.

A quarter of these are three-bed apartments, designed for families.

There are 404 PBSA beds on offer, split between cluster accommodation and studio bedrooms. The former accommodation is intended to be a mix of five and six bedrooms.

Student numbers have risen significantly in the city over recent years, with full-time student number growing by more than a quarter (25.1 per cent) between 2016/17 and 2021/22.PBSA, of which there is little in the Leith area, has the potential to free-up much needed family homes locally currently occupied by students.

Commercial space/co-working and amenity space are also proposed as part of Ocean Point 2, offering fantastic active frontage to Ocean Drive, with greatly enhanced public realm encouraging active lifestyles.

In addition to delivering homes, the new development will deliver significant local spend, amounting to some £5.3 million by residents and visitors annually, supporting an estimated 60 retail and leisure jobs.

It has been estimated that 325 jobs will be created directly in the construction of the overall scheme.

The development neighbours Ocean Terminal, which is set to undergo a £100 million transformation, delivering a mixed-use development comprising residential, commercial, retail and hospitality.

The extension of the tram line between Edinburgh and Ocean Terminal also provides connectivity between the development and Edinburgh city centre within 20 minutes.

Harrison has a long pedigree of working in the city, ranging from delivering the Malmaison at St Andrew Square to student developments at Westfield and Gorgie and hotel development at Osborne House, Haymarket.

A spokesperson for Harrison Developments commented: “Our proposed development, if approved, will bring much-needed homes and student accommodation to an area which is undergoing a rapid transformation, delivering a truly mixed community.

“Regenerating a current brownfield site, this development boasts excellent transport links, especially with the new tram line, and will deliver a significant investment into the local community.”

Planning and development consultancy Turley provided planning services for the project with CDA acting as architects.

THE Apprentice star Thomas Skinner has shared snaps of his hilarious new personalised number plate featuring his signature catchphrase “BOSH”.

The 32-year-old businessman rose to fame following his appearance on fifteenth series of The Apprentice in 2019 where he became a fan favourite thanks to his Cockney accent and personality.

During his appearance on the show, wheeler-dealer Skinner also coined his own catchphrase – signing off most posts, speeches and celebrations with the proclamation: “Bosh!”

Now Skinner, from Romford, East London, has proudly shared his most recent purchase in dedication to his long-running catchphrase.

An image shows Skinner posing beside his silver Mercedes-Benz SL Class convertible with son Henry, 2, standing in the passenger seats.

A beaming Skinner points at the number plate stuck on the front of his motor, which hilariously reads: “A BO5H”.

Skinner shared the snap to social media yesterday with the caption: “The number plate ‘A BO5H’ came up on the DVLA auction the other week and I was 100% not letting anyone else buy it.

“The paperwork has finally got to me. I’ve put it on one of my favourite cars in my little collection, my old Mercedes SL.

“I like to call her the pub cruiser, because she basically cruises to the pub with the roof down and then stays there until I pick her up again. Bosh.”

The post has since received over 9,500 likes and more than 170 comments from users left in stitches.

One user wrote: “That’s a belter that plate.”

Another commented: “Lovely, lovely car.”

A third said: “Nice car. Plate spacing will get you pulled by dibble though fella.”

Another replied: “That is priceless and brilliant. A Bosh.”

Despite being fired by Sir Alan Sugar in the eighth week of The Apprentice, Skinner has remained in the limelight with appearances on TV shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Celebrity MasterChef.

He has also gained a large following online thanks to his near-daily videos detailing his large and unusual breakfasts such as Christmas dinner and lasagne.

Usually eating at Dino’s Cafe in New Spitalfields Market, East London, Skinner typically announces his breakfast alongside a motivational speech for his followers – and signs off with “bosh”.
