The Nature Reserve is Buzzing now!

The skirl of the pipes has been replaced by the low hum of thousands of honeybees, proudly proclaiming the commitment of Highland Titles to sustainable values.

While the company has allowed customers to adopt the titles of Laird, Lord or Lady of Glencoe, they have only ten Queens of Glencoe, and that’s the queen bees that will live in the ten hives they are leasing from leading Scottish sustainability business Plan Bee Ltd

Peter Bevis of Highland Titles said:

“Our customers could be forgiven for thinking they hear a buzzing in the glens, but that’s just our ten new honeybee hives. Nature is very important to us and we are well aware of the plight of the world’s honeybees and the part they play in the delicate balance of our ecosystems. In working with Plan Bee, we’re doing our bit to promote a forward-thinking sustainability message.”

In the Year of Homecoming, the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and the vote on independence, Highland Titles has joined a growing band of Scottish organisations committed to doing more than selling the shortbread tin image of Scotland. They are helping to promote Scotland around the world as a forward-thinking nation, taking action to save the environment.

Plan Bee already works with a number of the UKs leading companies to provide a proactive sustainability element to their business. Whether making a sustainability statement, producing finest quality honey on site, leaving a lasting environmental legacy or teaching young people about bee-keeping, Plan Bee’s clients are ahead of the game in creating their unique selling points to switched on consumers.

Warren Bader, Plan Bee Ltd’s CEO added:

“The Highlands is renowned for finest quality of its produce, whether the venison, wild salmon or malt whisky that is exported around the world. As well as looking for quality, switched on consumers are also looking for something extra, something that says a company cares about sustaining the environment, and protecting the planet we all share. Highland Titles has made a strong commitment to that with 10 hives, and as a result they will be able to produce more than 200 jars of the finest quality Highland honey each year, now Lords, Lairds and Ladies, that has to be worth coming home to!”
